Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission — at no extra cost to you. This is how we keep the lights on. It does not change what we write or how we score products.

Our ClickBank relationship

Most of the products we review are sold through ClickBank, a digital marketplace that handles checkout, payment, and customer service on behalf of the vendors. When you click a /go/…link on this site, you are redirected to the vendor's checkout page on ClickBank. If you complete a qualifying purchase, we receive a commission from the vendor.

ClickBank itself is not the seller of record for your purchase — the individual vendor is. We are an independent affiliate; we have no ownership interest in ClickBank or any vendor whose products we cover.

Editorial independence

Our reviews reflect honest assessments. No vendor has ever paid us to write a review, approved our copy before publication, or dictated a score. Commission rates are the same whether we give a product a 9 or a 5 — so there is no financial incentive to inflate ratings.

We regularly tell readers who should not buy a product. When something is overpriced, poorly sourced, or simply not worth the ask, we say so — even when we carry an affiliate link for it. If a product no longer meets our standards, we remove the link entirely.

The Backyard Freedom Lab team earns commissions only when readers find products genuinely useful. Our long-term interest aligns with yours, not with any vendor's sales target.

How commissions fund this site

Running this site costs money: research, writing, editing, and hosting. Affiliate commissions are our primary revenue source. We do not accept sponsored posts or pay-to-feature arrangements. When you buy through our links, you are directly supporting independent product journalism.
